Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the smallest.space app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices that was created by Kevin Mitchell (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a Free service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.

Information Collection and Use

The Application is a local device provisioning tool. It does not collect, transmit, or store personal information on remote servers. All operations performed by the Application occur locally on your device and communicate directly with the hardware device being configured.

The Application may collect the following limited technical information for diagnostic purposes:

  • The operating system you use on your mobile device
  • Application crash reports and error logs

The Application does not collect your name, email address, location, browsing history, or any other personally identifiable information.

Permissions Used by This Application

The Application requests the following device permissions, each for a specific purpose:

  • Camera: The Application uses your device camera solely to scan QR codes printed on the hardware device. Camera access is required to initiate device pairing. No photos or video are captured, stored, or transmitted.

  • Bluetooth: The Application uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover and communicate with compatible hardware devices for Wi-Fi provisioning. Bluetooth is the primary means of sending configuration data to the device. No Bluetooth data is shared with third parties.

  • Location (Android only): Android requires location permission to scan for Bluetooth Low Energy devices. The Application does not collect, store, use, or transmit your location. This permission is requested solely to satisfy the Android operating system requirement for BLE scanning. On Android 12 and above, the Application uses the BLUETOOTH_SCAN permission with the neverForLocation flag to make clear that location is not inferred from Bluetooth scans.

  • Wi-Fi and Network State: The Application requests Wi-Fi and network state permissions to deliver Wi-Fi credentials to the device being configured and to verify network connectivity during the provisioning process. No network data is collected or stored.

  • Vibration: The Application may use device vibration to provide haptic feedback during the provisioning workflow.

Third Party Access

The Application does not transmit your data to third parties. The Application does not use advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or data brokers.

The Service Provider may disclose information only:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Data Retention Policy

The Application does not retain user data on remote servers. Any configuration data entered during device provisioning is transmitted directly to the target device and is not stored by the Application or the Service Provider. Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (shoelessone@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. The Application uses industry-standard security protocols (SRP6a Security 2 or X25519 Security 1) to protect the Wi-Fi credentials transmitted during device provisioning.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
